My pool water turned green! What does that mean?

The green color is caused by algae. Usually lack of proper filtration leads to algae growth. By cleaning or changing your pool’s filter while treating and removing the algae, this problem can be solved within a few days. Why is there a white build up along the water line in my pool?

This white buildup means total water hardness resulting from high calcium. This can be solved by adding a water softener.

Why do I always need to add water to my pool?

There are a number of reasons, including evaporation from especially hot temperatures in the summer. First, however, look for any obvious leaks in the equipment pad and look around the pool for puddles of water or squishy patches of grass. If you cannot spot a clear leak, a professional leak detection specialist can help you find the cause of the problem.

How long should I run my pool pump?

In peak summer use, it is recommended to run the pump 6-8 hours a day. Winter requires 3-4 hours a day to maintain the water quality for next season.

Why won’t my pump prime with water?

This problem is most often caused by an air leak on the suction side at the fitting where the plumbing meets the pump. The valve on the suction side may be letting air in as well.
